About Us
Building financial confidence in Sheffield since 2014
How We Started
What began as informal workshops at a community centre in Hillsborough has grown into Sheffield's most trusted source for practical financial education.
Our founder, having worked in banking for over a decade, noticed a recurring pattern: intelligent, capable people making costly financial decisions simply because no one had ever explained the basics. University doesn't teach you how to read a mortgage offer. Schools rarely cover compound interest in a meaningful way.
That gap in accessible financial education sparked something. The first workshop drew fourteen people, mostly word-of-mouth referrals from colleagues. Within a year, we'd outgrown the community centre and began running dedicated programmes across the city.
What We Believe
"Financial literacy isn't about becoming wealthy. It's about having the knowledge to make informed decisions that align with your own values and goals."
Education Over Advice
We teach you to fish rather than giving you a fish. Our goal is to build your capability to make informed decisions independently.
Patience and Progress
Financial skills develop over time. We're here for the long haul, not quick fixes. Sustainable habits matter more than shortcuts.
Inclusivity
Financial knowledge shouldn't be reserved for those who already have money. We work to make our programmes accessible to all.
No Hidden Agendas
We don't sell financial products. Our only interest is your learning. This independence lets us teach without bias.
The People Behind the Programme
Our educators bring decades of combined experience from banking, accounting, teaching, and financial planning.

Our Vision
We envision a Sheffield where financial decisions don't feel daunting, where people have the knowledge to evaluate options confidently, and where financial stress is reduced through understanding rather than avoidance.
In the coming years, we're working to expand our youth programmes, develop specialist courses for life transitions (retirement, redundancy, inheritance), and create resources that extend our reach beyond those who can attend in person.
Financial education shouldn't be a luxury. It's a fundamental life skill that schools don't adequately teach and that many people never have the opportunity to develop. We're committed to filling that gap, one workshop at a time.
